This programme will provide you with the essential basics of animal ethics, the criteria for choosing experimental models and alternative methods. You will also learn about the role and operation of ethics committees, the classification of procedures according to their severity, and the principles for applying limit points. A guided reading of a Project Authorisation Application (PAA) and an introduction to APAFIS and the non-technical summary will give you a practical insight into the ethics review process.
