This module must be supplemented by a species-specific module to provide initial training in animal experimentation.

Only the joint validation of a basic module and a module specific to a group of species can lead to an initial regulatory training certificate.

Prerequisites

  • For the Designers course

Scientific degree (Bac+5) or scientific degree (Bac+2) and 5 years' experience working under the supervision of a Bac+5 graduate.

Learning objectives

  • Master the fundamentals of animal ethics and the responsibilities of a designer, applicator or carer

Programme

  • Depending on your route, the duration is 7.5 hours for carers, 13.5 hours for applicators and 25.5 hours for designers

Regulation, ethics, 3Rs, ethics committees, SBEA, alternative methods, limit points, euthanasia, criteria for choosing a model
